Goals & Approach
The brief called for a residential building that balances energy efficiency, comfort, and construction economy. The architectural concept emphasises clean façades, generous openings, and sun-control, while floor plans were optimised for daylight, privacy, and storage.
Scope of Services
- Architectural design: façades, plans, and common areas focused on daily flow and practical storage.
- Structural design: reinforced-concrete frame with efficient column/wall layout and checks to EC2/EC8.
- MEP design: heating/cooling, DHW, and lighting with low consumption and simple maintenance.
- Coordination & supervision: site inspections, schedule control, and quality checks of materials and works.
Structural & Seismic Design
Vertical elements were arranged for uniform stiffness and limited torsional effects. We verified drifts, cracking, and joints, with foundation detailing tailored to local soil conditions. The objective was safety, material economy, and buildability.
Energy Performance & Materials
High-performance openings, envelope insulation, and shading to the south-facing elevations. Materials were selected for durability and easy upkeep. LED lighting provides uniform, comfortable illumination.
Construction Supervision
Throughout construction we performed regular site visits, reinforcement checks prior to concrete pours, trade coordination, and frequent progress reports to the owner.
